We are the Sons and Daughters of Douglass, celebrating the history and heritage of the former Douglass Elementary-High School of Kingsport, Tennessee, the largest African-American High School in the upper East Tennessee Region. The school closed in 1966, but lives on in our hearts and minds.
The Sons and Daughters of Douglass, Inc. (dba The Douglass Alumni Association - Kingsport) is a non-profit corporation, tax-exempt under Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Service Tax Code. Our not-for-profit website is a positive Voice for the Riverview and South Central Kingsport Neighborhood.
Gather here, the alumni of Douglass, their descendents, the people of Riverview, South Central Kingsport, and their friends and classmates of other former black schools in the area.
We are a proud community, as we all grew up together.
Many thanks to Roberta Webb and Donald Hickman for their valuable suggestions for the website.
Please email us your current and upcoming events, to keep the Riverview Community informed.
